What is AI today in 2024?

AI today is an enhanced search which interacts with what it knows, interlinks with a requirement and correlates the question as an interpretation to what it believes should be a result.

So its not real AI?

We would classify it as artificially acquired intelligence, not generative which is a technical execution.

So it doesnt learn?

Sure it does but it remains learning by acquisition.

Ea. it uses what it knows, it does not evolve by learning, sure many times it looks like it is evolving but when you have too many variables and too many formulas to use them with, you get unexpected results, hence -it is dreaming- when a result makes no sense or, -wow!- when it happens to get the right formula with the right variables (which of course is used as new training material to reduce dream states) which often shows new insights as it has an extremely large pool of data at its fingertips.
Ea. if our brain could contain and process this pool we would not get surprised by AI anymore.

How to use AI without current and real-time data?

Think about the question and formulate it with as many words you can think of, then reduce by leaving out words a human would need to produce a meaningful answer (reduce).

For example:
We dont seem to get a grip on what we need in terms of resources to get people to set foot on Mars within a few years, while we have everything we need to get going, where are we going wrong to get to Mars? What are we missing?
